Our mind is a muscle, the more we train it to focus on what we want the smoother ways to our desires will unfold. If you are a bit nerdy, just google Reticular Activating System and see what comes out. Long story short, this part of our brain perfectly filters everything that we do not focus on and presents into our face things that we frequently think about. It's like when you really want that red Porsche, or you are thinking about changing your haircut, 'suddenly' you see everywhere car that you want, girls with bob haircut etc.The same way works in other direction, if you obsess about conspiracy theories, your brain will serve you so well with all physical proofs of what can go wrong. This is how perfect this muscle is. It is not some kind f magic, it is just how our brain woks. So, if our brain can work to our advantage why don't we use it for positive purposes, right?! The challenge is, most of people are primed (read programmed) to focus on negative circumstances due to our survival set of fears that evolution still hasn't overcome, despite the fact that we don't live anymore in the jungle surrounded by tigers and snakes. So what should we do when fear and negativity occur? Here are some techniques that always helped me: when the fear arises, don't jump fully into it, observe it. Understand you are not your emotions, you can perfectly observe them and not identify with them. Give your fear a name, get friendly with it.
Secondly, start remembering situations in your life where you had some fear but then everything turned out well or when you despite the fear followed your intuition that brought you to your desired goal. Bring it into this moment, because this will fuel your faith and knowledge that fears are just in our imagination in most cases. When you are in negative state, your brain will naturally bring to the surface all the reasons that support these fears, remember it is perfect focusing engine. So that is when you step into the game and willingly decide to turn your focus on the memories that confirm positive outcomes despite the fear. When we selectively remember these experiences in our past, it is most likely to experience those moments again.
You have all the power to choose.
